Ryan Hayes is a New York based dancer, physical performer, educator, and choreographer currently performing with Pilobolus Dance Theater.

Originally from Spokane, Washington, Ryan earned his B.A. in Dance Performance from Gonzaga University before continuing his training at the Steps on Broadway Conservatory, where he was awarded a scholarship during the program. His performance experience spans concert dance, theater, film, television, and interdisciplinary work, with credits including The Joyce Theater, Little Island, Radiolab, St. Ann’s Warehouse, Tú Sí Que Vales in Italy, the Joy Awards, and performances of repertory by Paul Taylor and Jerome Robbins.

Since joining Pilobolus, Ryan has performed nationally and internationally while contributing to the company’s collaborative creation process. His work includes Lamentation Variations, developed in celebration of the Martha Graham Dance Company’s centennial, Virtuous and Vicious, and the company’s evening-length cabaret show. His creative work also includes serving as a creative consultant for Lindsey Hanson’s Sanctuary Project.
